Ravello

On top of a hill, about 365m above sea level, is the town of Ravello, overlooking the Gulf of Salerno and a short drive east of Amalfi. This enchanting place is home to shady gardens and quiet alleys, and enjoys a slower pace of life that has managed to seduce anyone over the years, from Wagner to D.H. Lawrence and Gore Vidal. Among the gems of Ravello stands the majestic Villa Cimbrone whose gardens are the main attraction being considered one of the most important examples of English-style landscape architecture in southern Europe. A walk among the fragrant roses and exuberant hydrangeas will lead you to the terrace of infinity where a series of majestic marble busts oversee a breathtaking view of the sky and the cerulean blue sea.
